Friday, July 25, 2025 - Disneyland and move to partner hotel
After a good night's rest we saw a sunny day outside our window. Getting ready for the day and eating the food we purchased yesterday Leo left his luggage at the Mira Costa and to be moved to the partner hotel at the close of the day. Kenji brought has luggage next door to our room. They left with early entry passes forthe Disney Sea portion of the park. I communicated with some conference friends while watching Disney cartoons on TV until Karin and Kenji arrive to check out of the room and move to the partner hotel where I plan to find a comfortable spot in the lobby to relaxation and read.
Karin and Kenji arrived before noon, and we left the Mira Costa which Kenji described as the best hotel in which he has stayed. We took the Disneyland monorail from the Disney Sea station to the Bayside station. The ride is very smooth and the train car is large and clean, plays music from Disney films as does the station. That is calming and distracting fron the high temperature and humidity: 93 degrees and over 50% humidity. No wonder the Lusters take cooling breaks in their hotel rooms. They registered and gave me information regarding access to the room. I happily sat down in the lobby to read, and Karin and Kenji returned to the park. They may or may not return to cool down, and I may not see them until the park closes at 9 pm.
Meanwhile, in the room now I have a view of a portion of the park and of the monorail. How fortunate I am. I began watching Sumo wrestling on tv, and if seems I have increasingly more questions about the meaning of several thi gs wich occur during matches. The parads of the wrestlers wearing long and heave aprons decorated with symbols and Japamese words, the presemce of priestsand clergy, the hand motions at certain times, and the silence and straight faces of the attendees. After Karin returned late afternoon she stated that she has seen everything in the parks and that she believes that Leo has seen everything he wishes to see also. That's good, for today is their final day at Disneyland.
Karin and I watched Sumo wrestling and then went to the hotel lobby to look for some supper. We found a small cafe where I purchased dumplings and onion soup. Karin ordered a panini sandwich. We then went to Lawson to shop to purchase breakfast food. We'll, the edamame I purchased I ate after I finished the dumplings and onion soup. We ate in our room at a coffee table and enjoyed watching the fireworks from Disneyland. I then returned to the lobby to watch the historic Disney film Snow White. It was shown throughout the day in a children's play area where current cartoons were being shown and where play equipment was also located. I didn't mind. I enjoyed seeing the film on a large TV screen while children played.
