Thursday, August 17 - A Beautiful Day in Bolton
Shymala had a bowl of porridge with raisins prepared for me as I came downstairs. We shared conversation about the day, her responsibilities, and school nursing, vaccinations, and screenings before she left for her long day at work a 8:15. I finished breakfast and tea and fascinating articles on gardening, gut health, alzheimers prevention, home carpets - from the Sunday newspaper.
It was 1000 and time to dress to walk. Today I walked in the direction of the city. The Bolton School which Prashanth and Priscilla attended covers a lage piece of ground. It includes an infant and pre-school. The buildings are surrounded by large trees and grass, and fences, of course.
Queens Park is lovely with walking paths, a river, two lakes, undulating green areas, a formal garden, and a memorial plaque to Princess Diana. There is also a war memorial to those lost in both world wars.
I came to an intersection where roads were meeting and no traffic lights and turned around heading for "home". It was so warm that I removed my jacket and neck scarf. Hopefully tomorrow I will find a Boots drug store and purchase another tube of toothpaste.
I fixed a toastie lunch with toasted English muffin-like pieces, ham,, and cheese, microwaved them and ate a fresh pear and plain yogurt with strawberry flavoring. Now I am ready to read one of Priscilla's books.
Reading Priscilla's The Kite Runner and napping a bit I came into their conservatory where the sun was streaming in. I continued to read there until I felt the need to return to a cooler room. Amazing!
When Shyamala arrived home around 6 PM, we shared tea and coffee and Sri Lankan crunchies. Prashanth and Joanna called,, and on video we saw them and Asher eating his meal, and we talked about our Saturday picnic plans and a local faire in Blackpool. Shyamala then left for a long walk, needed after her long day of morning and afternoon clinics. Rajkumar arrived back from the funeral in Milton Keynes at All Saints Roman Catholic church about the same time as Shyamala from her walk.
Supper had a variety of tasty stir fried fresh green beans and carrots, fresh green salad chicken thighs and sweet potatoes and fresh pineapple and mango for dessert.
We concluded the day together in front of TV news.
