DUBLIN July 28 and 29, 2023
Premilla and I departed LA on Aer Lingus Friday evening July 28, and after a largely turbulent flight and some sleep and no breakfast we landed an hour early. Then the Irish adventure began.
Our taxi driver began talking with us about wher we came from, his family and stories about places we drove by. We feel we know a lot about him, even though we don't know his name. This was a delightful introduction to Ireland.
After checking in and freshening up we requested and received a map and guidance for reaching places to eat and shop as well as St. Stephen's Green. It was sunny, cool, and windy and manageable with sweaters.
It took a while to find a place to eat Irish food. The shopping mall had international foods in its food court, we tried a pub and seated ourselves by a very helpful Katherine who told us to order at the bar. My shortness was a disadvantage as the tall guys around me attracted the attention of the bar tender before I. I waves and called you hoo; that brought his attention. I placed our food and drink order and was told they don't have food. Oh well, it was a fun experience. We did eat hamburgers with Irish beef and a delightful fruit spritzer
Finally, near 5 PM we had our first food of the day. We walked among lots of people? They appeared happy and ready for a happy evening. We found a chocolate store and treated ourselves to milkshakes and chocolates which Premilla enjoyed, commenting on their freshness.
It was still light at 7 PM, but we decided to consult the map and return to the hotel. St Stephen's Green was only route back, and we joined any persons enjoying walking through the park.
It was still light outside when we turned off our lights. Tomottowxwe plan to attend the Anglican cathedral for its choral Eucharist, preceeded, of course by breakfast at a French bakery.
